English as a Lingua Nordica – Language in a Changing World is a conference for English-language professionals in the Nordic countries.
Join us to share research and professional experiences on the use and status of English in the Nordic countries and the impact of English on Nordic languages, cultures and societies. Topics include inclusivity, accessibility, gender neutrality, legislation and language policy.
In a panel on "Nordic Languages Interacting with English: Challenges and Changes" representatives of Nordic language councils gather for the first time to explore language policy and the evolving role of English in the Nordic countries and beyond.
Our conference is the first in the Nordic region to unite researchers, translators, editors, linguists and other language professionals working with English. We aim to strengthen connections and share best practices internationally.
This conference represents a collaborative effort between Kieliasiantuntijat (Language Experts), a Finnish trade union for people specializing in multilingual communication, and the Nordic Editors and Translators (NEaT), a community of English-language professionals from the Nordic countries and beyond.
