Navigating the Shift in Remote interpreting in sign language interpreting
20.5.2025 17:30
Zoom
Due to Covid-19, the work of sign language interpreters underwent a transformation in Sweden (Warnicke & Matérne 2024), as well as worldwide (De Meulder et al. 2021). Traditionally, interpreting assignments predominantly occurred in face-to-face settings, but the pandemic necessitated a shift towards more remote work. The presentation will shed light on interpreters’ experiences, collegial teamwork and some aspects of organisation of remote interpreting in Sweden.
Speaker of our evening is Camilla Warnicke, Associate professor, Authorized interpreter.
Camilla acts as guest researcher at Stockholm University at the Institute for Interpreting and Translation Studies and works as Interpreter trainer at Fellingsbro Folkhögskola.
This presentation will be held in English. The event will not be recorded.
