Co-interpreting in Teams of Deaf and Hearing Interpreters: Towards a Better Understanding of Working in Teams

In this presentation, Nicolas Hanquet will explore various approaches to collaboration in mixed teams of deaf and hearing interpreters around the globe. He will highlight the diverse contexts in which these teams operate, ranging from court interpreting to live television news broadcasts. Additionally, he will demonstrate key techniques used in these settings, arguments that support this type of interpreting and delve deeper into the concept of "feeding/pivot” interpreting, focusing on the role of the interpreters in that position.
This presentation will be held in English. Interpreting from English to Finnish sign language and between Finnish sign language and international sign will be offered.
